Anne and Mike Grain took this picture of a waterfall inside a cave at Smoo while taking their new motorbike out for a spin along the north coast from Thurso to Durness.

Hello Bud in the blue and white colours was photographed by Alastair Swan as he powered home to win the 2009 Scottish Grand National at Ayr Racecourse.

"I doesn't get any better", said Robert Mason from Kilwinning who captured this sunset, "complete with poodles", at Ardrossan's north beach.

James Bissett snapped his sister and her husband - Joanne and Chris Glover - at their wedding reception in Dunfermline. He said: "Never trust your brother to organise the transport for your honeymoon."

Mary Mowat from Edinburgh said: "I came across this pheasant whilst running round Arthur's Seat on a foggy day."

Production manager Alasdair Know took this stunning picture of the Tay Rail Bridge while preparing to carry out some survey work. He said: "Beats sitting in the office."

This picture of the CalMac ferry, "Hebridean Isles" arriving at Port Askaig was taken by Donald Whannell to "end a perfect few days on Islay and Jura".

Fiona Morrison said her daughter Rebecca spotted this "beautiful metallic beetle" on the slopes of Clachnaben. "I believe it is a Carabus Nitens," she said.

Douglas Taylor took this shot while watching cricket over two "glorious days" in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire. He said: "Amazing for mid April - it could be Australia."
