Anne and Mike Grain took this picture of a waterfall inside a cave at Smoo while taking their new motorbike out for a spin along the north coast from Thurso to Durness.

Hello Bud winning the Scottish National

Hello Bud in the blue and white colours was photographed by Alastair Swan as he powered home to win the 2009 Scottish Grand National at Ayr Racecourse.

Poodles at Ardrossan North Beach

"I doesn't get any better", said Robert Mason from Kilwinning who captured this sunset, "complete with poodles", at Ardrossan's north beach.

Beetle

Fiona Morrison said her daughter Rebecca spotted this "beautiful metallic beetle" on the slopes of Clachnaben. "I believe it is a Carabus Nitens," she said.
