Israeli shell explodes over Gaza Strip 4 January

Fighting continued in the northern half of the Gaza Strip, after Israel sent in troops and tanks to tackle militants who have been firing rockets into southern Israel.

At least 30 people, including children, were killed and others hurt in an Israeli air strike on a United Nations-run school in the Gaza Strip, according to the UN.
