In pictures: Tribute to Bhutto

Tens of thousands of Pakistanis gathered at the tomb of the assassinated opposition leader, Benazir Bhutto, to commemorate the first anniversary of her death.

Security was tight with Bhutto's widower, President Asif Ali Zardari, expected to attend.

Men and women alike wept by the grave.

Members of her Pakistan Peoples' Party and others remembered Bhutto's life with a day of prayers and poetry.

In Rawalpindi, mourners said prayers at the spot where Bhutto was killed in a suicide attack while campaigning for an election.

People in Rawalpindi lit candles in tribute to the dead politician.

A coin has been released to commemorate Bhutto.
