More than 100 photographs of actress Marilyn Monroe are being offered for sale in three sessions this week at Christie's auction house in New York.
The photographs reveal the transformation of Monroe from fresh-faced model Norma Jean Baker, to a 20th Century Hollywood sex symbol.
Bert Stern's 1962 photograph of the actress, entitled Marilyn Monroe: The Last Sitting, is expected to sell for tens of thousands of pounds at the auction.
The collection includes a young Monroe photographed on the beach in Long Island, New York, in 1949, by Andre De Dienes.
Monroe posed for respected celebrity portrait photographer Richard Avedon in 1957. His photograph is expected to fetch $25,000 - $35,000 (£16,430-£23,000).
The photographs, which are part of the Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection, are expected to fetch between $811,000 and $1.1m (£533,160 - £723,155) in total.
