In Pictures: Severe flooding

Flooding has hit several parts of the country, especially the south-west. David Peadon captured the flooding on Station Road in Illminster, Somerset.

The flooding in Isle Brewers was so severe that it prevented Ms Young from leaving her house.

Sam Smith sent in this picture from Tatworth in South Chard, Somerset. He said it is of streams that swelled to resemble rivers.

This picture was taken by Jen Thorpe of her partner Jack in their garden - he is searching for leeks. The couple live in Maud, Aberdeenshire.

Homes were flooded in Ilminster in Somerset. But Ian Goddard, who took this picture, said the water now seemed to be receding.
