In pictures: Street Art Awards

Urban street artists are to be recognised at the inaugural Street Art Awards ceremony in London on Thursday.

The public have been encouraged to vote online for their favourite street artist from 2008.

Dozens of artists have also donated work on vinyl to be raffled at the ceremony, while others will be auctioned on the internet.

They include socio-political artist SPQR, whose work has been compared to Banksy's.

Contemporary artist Guy Denning is known for his portraits, which have sold for thousands at auction.

Dale Grimshaw, who describes his work as a mix of graffiti and painting, has exhibited in London and New York.
