In pictures: Your teeth

Alastair Cook

After The Magazine's look at the US-UK dental divide, we asked readers to send in pictures of their gnashers. "Every tooth in my mouth was restored in 48 hours flat, in the Ukraine for £1,450," says Alastair Cook.

Sarah Sarre

These before and after pictures are of Sarah Sarre. A bit of pain for a whole lot of gain, she says.

Judy Delin

"I'm not proud of my teeth," says Judy Delin. "I didn't wear my brace when I was growing up because it had a piece of wire on it that hurt, so I used to throw it under the bed." Something she now regrets.

Man's teeth

These teeth have not visited a dentist for 10 years, according to their anonymous owner. Two are chipped, but he still has all his own and is 52 years of age.

Liam Bradley

"Unlike in the US, all the dental work I've had is a brace for 18 months when I was 13," says Liam Bradley.

Dean Chapman (R) and friend

"Not all of us Brits inherit bad genes when it comes to teeth," says Dean Chapman, on the right. But adds that he and his friend are fans of American smiles.

Melanie Dawn

"I'm British and very proud of my teeth," says Melanie Dawn, who is flying the flag for UK dentistry in Vancouver, Canada.

Shakib Sharifi

"I'm British and I think I have the most naturally beautiful teeth in Hounslow," says Shakib Sharifi. That's some boast.
