In Pictures: £17m leisure centre

The DG One leisure centre in Dumfries has opened its doors after about 20 months of construction works at a cost of £17m

The centre has three swimming pool areas including one for children which has a moveable floor

The more adventurous can have a shot at the flumes which spiral up out of one water area

A fitness studio for aerobics and other classes is also part of the leisure complex

A bank of exercise machines is among the fitness equipment on offer

The centre suffered a number of delays which put it several months behind schedule

A large indoor court area also doubles as an entertainment hall which can stage events for up to 1,200 spectators

Special "water walkers" have already proved popular with people using the DG One centre
