Fans who watched the Uefa Cup final between Rangers and Zenit St Petersburg in Manchester left their mark. Council workers have been busy clearing over 100 tonnes of rubbish which they left behind.
An estimated 100,000 fans, mainly from Glasgow, descended on the city to watch the match on big screens. This was the scene around Albert Square.
All was well in Albert Square as fans peacefully watched the game. Further up the road in Piccadilly Gardens however, things were not going so smoothly. Trouble broke out when the screen broke down.
Thousands of supporters who had gone to the gardens to watch the game were left with nowhere to go. Some enterprising fans crammed into Ladbrokes to get a glimpse of the game.
Some Rangers fans tangled with police - leading to 42 arrests. A Russian fan was stabbed inside the stadium, and several other fans were injured along with at least 15 police officers and a police dog.
Meanwhile thousands of miles away in St Petersburg, Russian fans celebrated their 2-0 win in more sedate surroundings.
A vast clear-up operation is under way in Manchester. More than 200 street cleaning staff and at least 50 council office workers are working on the tidy-up - three times the usual number of staff.
