A series of seven stone sculptures has been unveiled across the south of Scotland. Now the public is being asked to try to work out the link between the artworks like this one in Newcastleton.

The Talking Head stone is a prominent feature at Ae forest. It is made from a glacial granite boulder.

Each stone is placed near one of the Seven Stanes cycle routes. This one is found at Dalbeattie.

The Meteorite is the sculpture to be found at Glentress in the Scottish Borders.

Situated in Mabie Forest, the Ghost Stane is made from white marble.

At Kirroughtree in Galloway visitors can admire The Gem Stane.

Glentrool is home to the Giant Axe Head which overlooks Loch Dee.
