Plane wreckage

The jet crash in Farnborough, Kent, claimed the lives of the five people on board. The pilot has been hailed as a hero for minimising the loss of life.

Firefighters

Early on Monday, fire crews dampened down parts of the ruined house that continued to smoulder. The plane crashed and exploded into a fireball, as aviation fuel burned.

Air accident investigators were examining wreckage of the crash. It will be taken to Hampshire for further analysis.

The remains are being taken to a local hospital. Formal identification of those who perished will take some time.

Floral tributes have been left for those killed. Most residents of Romsey Close, Farnborough, are not expected to be able to return to their homes for several days while investigation work is carried out.
