Kenya's parliament in Nairobi is holding its state opening, a week after President Mwai Kibaki and opposition leader Raila Odinga reached a power-sharing agreement.
Mr Kibaki (c) and Mr Odinga (r) head into parliament which is being asked to back the agreement.
Two minutes of silence were held for victims of the violence that followed controversial elections.
Mr Kibaki tells MPs the deal will lay "the foundations for peace and stability in our country".
