A bomb blast in Afghanistan's southern city of Kandahar has struck in the middle of a dog fighting event, killing scores of people.
Dozens more were wounded in the explosion. At least 300 people were attending the event on the outskirts of the city.
Local police have been inspecting the scene of the blast. Afghan militia leaders were among the spectators at the dog fight.
The authorities are accusing the Taleban of carrying out the attack, though there has been no word from the group.
The explosion threw body parts over the area and also damaged police vehicles.
Taleban forces in Kandahar province have been active in recent weeks, with suicide attacks and roadside bomb blasts.
