In pictures: Heathrow crash clear-up

Investigators are trying to find out what caused British Airways flight BA038 from Beijing to crash land at London's Heathrow Airport.

Cranes have been moved into place around the wreckage of the plane. It is thought giant airbags will be placed under the aircraft so it can be dragged into a hangar.

The impact of the crash knocked the panels off the aircraft's starboard engine.

All 136 passengers and 16 crew survived the accident on the south runway.

The Boeing 777 crash-landed on grass before skidding onto the tarmac and coming to a halt.

The accident caused disruption for air travellers and passengers have been advised to check with their airline before setting out for the airport.
