Your pics of Europe's Capital of Culture

As Liverpool starts its year as Europe's Capital of Culture we've been asking for your photos of the city. This picture by Manu Randeria was inspired by the famous Liver Building.

Ruth Milburn raves about the beaches of Liverpool Bay. For her this Anthony Gormley figure standing on Crosby Beach represents the city at its best.

This mural on a building on Goodison Road sums up the diversity of the city for Stuart Brandwood.

While thousands will be gathering in the city on Friday to watch the start of Liverpool's year as Cpaital of Culture, Ruth Milburn would rather be on Liverpool's Crosby Beach.

The Old War Office in Liverpool is the subject of this photo taken by Manu Randeria.

Stuart Brandwood sent in this picture, he said "I think the way Goodison is hemmed in by the city makes it one of the best old grounds in the country."

A layer of snow made the normally boring view from Tom Shires office more interesting. Tom said the view towards Everton Brow is likely to change with more building work.

Its not just the city which inspires local residents, Ruth Milburn sent in this picture of Sefton Park carpeted in daffodils last year.
