In pictures: Pakistan suicide blast

A suicide attack in the Pakistan city of Lahore has claimed at least 22 lives and wounded 60. WARNING: Some of the following images have graphic content.

The bomber struck outside the High Court building just before noon local time, when the area was at its busiest.

He was on a motorcycle and blew himself up when police asked him to stop, officials said. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

The attack comes amid heightened political tension following the assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, and ahead of key elections.

In the blast's aftermath, one boy was left amid the carnage, holding the hand of an injured man.
