The house is a warren of intricately decorated archways.

Clocks, statues, beads - everything has been used to bring colour to the house.

But it is also a family home with a working kitchen.

Estevao's workshop is where he continues his labour of love on the house.

The outside of the building is just as elaborate as the roof terrace shows.

From here Estevao and his family have a view across the favela.

The Gaudi style is very recognisable on the house's facade.
