Six gigantic lanterns formed the centrepiece to spectacular celebrations on the Forth & Clyde canal at the weekend
Large crowds turned out to see the fireworks, light show and torchlit parade, which was led by local school children
The lanterns, launched on the Firhill Basin in Glasgow, were designed by internationally acclaimed artist Graeme Gilmour
They represented the Armadillo, Ruchill Hospital, Ruchill Parish Church Tearooms, the Mausoleum at Sighthill Cemetery, Our Lady of the Assumption Church and Keppoch Campus School
British Waterways said they hoped the Illuminating Links event would become a regular feature in Glasgow for years to come
