In pictures: Musharraf wins vote

Lawmakers in Pakistan's parliament and provincial assemblies have re-elected Pervez Musharraf as president in a controversial vote.

Supporters of the general in Islamabad celebrated the sweeping victory.

However, opponents said the vote was unconstitutional and the Supreme Court has still to rule on its legitimacy.

The security presence was high - particularly in the capital.

The media interest was similarly huge. Pakistan is waiting to see whether the president will quit his army role and what part returning ex-PM Benazir Bhutto will play.
