In pictures: Gaza air strikes

The Israeli military intensified its bombardment of Hamas positions across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, 26 May.

The main target was the Executive Force, a Hamas-led security force whose building in Gaza City was destroyed.

Dozens were wounded in the latest attacks, which also killed at least four militants.

The deaths bring to about 40 the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the campaign.

Israel says its aim is to stop rocket attacks on its soil. The rockets have so far killed one Israeli civilian and wounded 16.

But Hamas says it will not stop firing rockets until the Israelis first stop their military operations.
