In Pictures: Aberdeen fire

This picture by Scott Green shows smoke billowing over the Altens industrial estate in the south of the city.

Grampian Fire and Rescue Service sent four appliances to tackle the blaze.

Staff in offices surrounding the site were told to stay indoors as smoke billowed across the area.

A mushroom cloud of smoke partially blocked out the sun, and could be seen two miles away at Aberdeen harbour.

Several nearby properties had to be evacuated as the smoke threatened to engulf them.

There were reports of an explosion at the site, sending a plume of smoke high above the city.
