The pool tanks and the wave machine are in place at Swansea's £32m revamped leisure centre and the surf machine is due to be installed.
The target is to reopen the centre formally in the beginning of 2008. It shut in 2003 due to safety worries.
It is hoped the new-look centre will get more than one million visitors each year.
Officials said the main bulk of the £32m spent on the centre has gone on the water features.
A multi-purpose hall with a capacity of 2,000 will enable exhibitions and music events to be held
The centre will also feature a health and fitness suite with about 170 fitness stations.
