In Pictures: Cardiff's final farewell

Fans from Doncaster Rovers and Bristol Rovers are in Cardiff to watch the teams play each other in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.

The Millennium Stadium has been hosting major finals since 2001 as Wembley Stadium is rebuilt.

Doncaster went into the final favourites to win.

About 37,000 Bristol fans came to the game, along with 18,000 Doncaster supporters.

Cardiff hoteliers have said hosting such major events has helped put the city on the map.

Stadium managers say they have other events planned when many of the finals revert to Wembley Stadium.

The Cardiff Business School estimates that the marketing value of staging the cup finals in Wales was worth about £100m.
