More than 100 schools from the Outer Hebrides to Jersey have been learning how to make TV, radio and online reports as part of BBC News School Report.
In preparation for the finale of the project - School Report News Day - a group of students from Hackney Free and Parochial School in London made five TV news reports.
Students examined the potential impact of the Olympics on Hackney and looked at the advantages and disadvantages of living in the borough.
They gathered opinions on their school uniform, asking if it was "outrageously outdated" or "fabulously fashionable".
Having never interviewed people on camera before, students bravely hit the streets to ask members of the public for their views on the chosen topics.
Not wishing to delete too much of their material, students found editing their footage into a two-minute report a difficult task.
Sticking to deadlines and delegating responsibilities were challenging, but students' determination paid off. At the end of the day they were proud to watch their reports.
Teacher Miss Manktelow said: "They had a fantastic experience and hopefully the project will do something to put Hackney schools on the map in a positive way."
Teacher Miss Manktelow added: "They really enjoyed filming and acquired a lot of skills that would have been difficult to gain during a standard lesson."
