In pictures: Anna Nicole's funeral

The body of American model Anna Nicole Smith has finally been laid to rest in the Bahamian capital, Nassau.

The private funeral was dominated by her favourite colour, pink - pallbearers wearing pink ties carried a coffin covered in pink sequined cloth into a church festooned with pink roses.

The ceremony followed a legal battle over where she should be buried - her mother, Virgie Arthur, wanted Anna Nicole laid to rest in her native Texas.

Hundreds of islanders and tourists massed behind police-guarded barricades to watch the procession - some booed and turned their thumbs down as her mother arrived.

Three hundred guests were invited. In attendance was her former boyfriend Larry Birkhead (L), his lawyer Debra Opri, and Anna Nicole's companion Howard Stern.

She was later buried in a pink beaded gown and tiara beside her son Daniel, 20, who died in the Bahamas last year.
