The search for an Indonesian airliner which went missing on Monday with 102 people on board has continued, with no sign of the plane or its passengers.
Ground, air and sea units have combed western Sulawesi where the Adam Air plane was believed to have come down.
Search teams have been hampered by bad weather as well as initial, erroneous reports that the wreckage had been found.
In this village near the heart of the search, a holy man (left) held a special ceremony for rescuers.
The ceremony was designed to make the search go smoothly. Indonesians, and relatives of those on board, are distressed at the lack of news.
The search has now been expanded to the north and east of Sulawesi.
Rescuers are focusing on the plane's flight path, and whether bad weather forced it off course.
Meanwhile, off the island of Java, a separate search continues for some 400 people still missing after a ferry sank a week ago.
A small number of survivors are still being found. Many have been blown miles off course by the bad weather.
