Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers received the Q Merit Award, which was presented by musician John Cale and Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell
Corinne Bailey Rae added the Q best newcomer award to her collection.
Mercury Award-nominated band Muse took the best live act award.
The Sugababes, The Kooks, Paul Weller, Orson, Manic Street Preachers, Peter Gabriel, Embrace and Razorlight were among those at the ceremony.
Take That, who are enjoying a career resurgence, won the Q Idol Award.
