A scarecrow competition in the Stirlingshire village of Thornhill is now in its third year
There were more than 80 entries for the contest, which coincides with the local gala day
The winning scarecrow featured country singer Dolly Parton on a horse at Ballinton Farm
A smiling monster made of hay bales was also among the prize winners
Second place went to Piddler on the Roof, which featured a real stream of water
Some of the entrants came with their own protection against the elements
Dr Who's tardis made a visit for the contest, accompanied by a cyberman
Organisers are hoping to attract more than 100 entrants next year
Similar competitions are held in some English villages
