In Pictures: Summer storms

Britain's heatwave broke into a series of thunderstorms this week. This is the view from Mike Cochrane's house in Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.

Photographer Tom Bland spotted the change in the weather in Dalston, north London. Tom says the clouds look quite heavenly...

...whereas later the clouds became "more foreboding with the church seemingly casting a large shadow."

In Ealing in West London, many people had to paddle home from work. Photographer Richard Garsthagen said, "The water is up to the knees at some parts in the street."

Here, the water laps around the driveways of an estate in Royston in Hertfordshire.

Photographer Joanne Booker from Wantage says "You could hear the air being ripped apart and then there was a giant crash."
