Britons have been arriving in Cyprus after their evacuation from Lebanon, including this mother and baby pictured leaving the HMS Bulwark in Limassol.
There were tears at Gatwick airport where relatives were reunited with loved ones.
Evacuees such as this young British citizen were taken from the Cypriot ports by bus for their onward journey.
The British air force base of Akrotiri, near Limassol in Cyprus, has been turned into a camp for evacuees.
The HMS Bulwark evacuated 1,300 people, young and old. Some 687 British nationals have already returned to the UK.
A UN-chartered ferry also left Lebanon for Cyprus. More than 330 Lebanese people and 34 Israelis have died in the fighting.
There were plenty of smiles from those shipped to safety. Many have vowed to return while other Britons declined the opportunity to be evacuated.
Children made up a large proportion of those evacuated and are being cared for by military.
