Rescue and relief efforts are under way in the town of Pangandaran on the Indonesian island of Java, which was struck by a tsunami on Monday.
More than 500 people are now known to have died when a 2m-high (6ft) wall of water triggered by an undersea earthquake hit the resort town.
Over 200 people are listed as missing and hundreds more are injured. Many people have been searching the town for their relatives.
Police and troops have been checking in the rubble of hotels and houses for survivors.
The government says more than 50,000 have lost their homes and are living in tents or mosques.
In Pangandaran, people are scared. Rumours of a second wave caused hundreds to flee inland on Wednesday.
