A Tamil Tiger training camp was hit in the north-eastern town of Trincomalee during two days of air strikes by the Sri Lankan military.
A few tin sheds in the Tiger camp were destroyed but some structures such as this observation post escaped damage.
Shooting targets lying on the ground are evidence that the camp was used for weapons training.
But there were few casualties as the local Tiger leadership had managed to find out about the imminent attack.
The attacks on the Tamil-dominated Muthur district have left 15 people dead and around 40 wounded.
There is fear in the town and many Tamils have taken refuge in schools and makeshift dwellings under trees.
