Like other groups in the region, the Turkana rely on their animals to live. These camels are lucky to still have some grass to eat - many animals have already died.

The hardy Acacia tree is one of the few plants to be able to survive in such dry conditions. The film The Constant Gardener was recently shot in the Turkana region.

Despite the drought, these boys still have the energy to play football but that may not be the case for much longer. Turkana was already one of Kenya's poorest districts.
