A formation of five Spitfires flies over Southampton Airport, Hampshire, marking the 70th anniversary of the aircraft's first test flight.
Looking out from the rear seat of one Spitfire was 93-year-old Alex Henshaw.
Mr Henshaw was a Spitfire test pilot in World War II, after flying the plane for the first time in November 1939.
The re-enactment of the Spitfire's maiden flight was enjoyed by thousands of spectators.
More than 20,000 Spitfires were built at the Supermarine factory in Woolston, Southampton.
