Protesters gathered outside the French embassy in Ivory Coast after international mediators called for the dissolution of parliament - one of President Gbagbo's last powerbases.
"'Young Patriots", supporters of Mr Gbagbo, set up roadblocks in the main city, Abidjan, in the government-held south.

On Wednesday, as Young Patriots surrounded state TV headquarters in Abidjan, protesters further west attacked a UN base, sparking clashes in which at least four people died.
UN forces fled the base and withdrew to the north. In Abidjan, Ivorian security forces were on the streets but did little to stop the unrest.
