In pictures: Irish bus tragedy

Children from four secondary schools were travelling on the bus when it overturned

Witnesses have described their shock at the crash, in which five teenage girls are known to have died

Helicopters, including military vehicles, were drafted in to help with the rescue effort

The bus ended on its side and two other vehicles were damaged

Many pupils injured in the crash were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance

Heavy lifting gear was being used to right the overturned bus
