Suspected Islamist militants bombed two court compounds in Bangladesh. At least five died in Gazipur, near Dhaka.
Some were critically injured. Among the wounded in Gazipur was lawyer Anwar Fakir, who received severe burns.
In an explosion in Chittagong at least two policemen died. The force of the blast left shoes and other belongings scattered.
Relatives of those caught up in the Gazipur blast raced to Dhaka where the injured were being treated.
Bangladeshi security forces say they are almost certain the Gazipur blast was a suicide bomb. Initial investigations suggest explosives were strapped to the bomber's body.
