Residents sit at a makeshift bed after an earthquake struck central China on Saturday

Hundreds of thousands in central China are sleeping outdoors for fear of more tremors after Saturday's earthquake.

Cai Jinneng nurses an ankle injured as he fled his home after the earthquake in Ruichang, China.

At least 14 died and hundreds were injured. The wounded are being treated in tents, as all buildings were evacuated.

The city of Ruichang and the neighbouring resort of Jiujiang bore the brunt of the magnitude 5.7 tremor.

The quake caused extensive damage, destroying more than 8,000 homes.

Relief supplies are being flown to the area, as homeless residents try to keep warm.
