|
A procession wound through the Square Mile as Alderman David Brewer became the 678th Lord Mayor of London
Therese the camel was among those taking part in the procession, the largest military parade on the calendar
The new Lord Mayor met World War II veterans during the show, which marks the start of his term of office
The parade wound its way through the streets of the Square Mile, as it has done for the past 783 years
The ornate state coach carried the new Lord Mayor to his destination, accompanied by 2,000 military personnel, 300 motor vehicles, 60 floats, 20 marching bands and 20 carriages
The Lord Mayor stopped for a blessing at St Paul's Cathedral, before carrying on to the Royal Courts of Justice, to swear allegiance to the Queen
