Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling

Romantic drama The Notebook was the big winner at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. Stars Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling took home acting prizes; they also won "best liplock".

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock poses with her surfboard-shaped award. The 41-year-old star was named best comedy actress for her performance in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous.

Jim Carrey

Why does Jim Carrey look so evil? Perhaps because he's just been named the year's best "bad guy" for his nefarious role in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Eva Longoria

All smiles from Eva Longoria, named best "breakout female" for her role as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives. The hit comedy drama was also named "breakout show" of the year.

Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler jokes on his mobile phone as he accepts his award for best comedian. His latest prison-set comedy The Longest Yard opens in the UK on 9 September.

Mariah Carey

It was a good night for singer Mariah Carey. Not only was she named R&B artist of the year, but her chart-topping track We Belong Together also won an award for best love song.

Mischa Barton

British-born actress Mischa Barton went home empty-handed after the ceremony, though Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson - her co-stars in hit US show The OC - both won awards.

Halle Berry

Halle Berry presented an award at the show, held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Los Angeles. The Catwoman star is currently filming X-Men 3.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani, who performed her song Hollaback Girl at the start of the show, returned to the stage later to pick up an award for best "breakout" female music star.

Hilary Duff

Actress Hilary Duff hosted the event alongside Deuce Bigalow star Rob Schneider. The seventh annual Teen Choice Awards will be broadcast in the US on Tuesday on the Fox network.
