The estate of the late fashion designer Gianni Versace is auctioning off some of his art collection at a sale at Sotheby's in New York and London. This is Francesco Clementine's Nude Self-Portrait Amidst Roses.
Versace (pictured with Naomi Campbell) was shot dead outside his home on Miami's South Beach in 1997. Much of his art collection had been housed at his four-storey town house in New York.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir's Jeune Femme Nue Aux Bras Leves was bought by Versace at auction in 1994. It now has a top estimate of £25,000 for its London sale.
Among the lots are several by Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The artists collaborated on Taxi 45th/Broadway between 1984-1985.
Another Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat work is House Eye. The Warhol-Basquiat works are the most valuable in the London sale. House Eye is expected to fetch up to £300,000 on Wednesday.
GE, also by Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, is expected to sell for up to £250,000. The sale continues until Thursday with the final lots being auctioned at Sotheby's London.
