1 of 7 An exhibition opening at the Jewish Museum in London on Monday looks at the intertwining history of Jews, Asians and black people in the UK.
2 of 7 The exhibition 'Connections: Hidden British Histories' has been organised by Jewish, Black and Asian groups to counter negative stereotypes of strained or hostile relations between the communities.
3 of 7 It includes photographs of high-profile community members such as MP Oona King - the daughter of a Jewish mother and black father.
4 of 7 Diane Abbott who became the UK's first black woman MP in 1987 is also featured in the exhibition.
5 of 7 Edie Friedman of Jewish Council for Racial Equality says they found many areas of connection and co-operation: "Where people lived, the political activity that communities engaged in, music, comedy, theatre - the whole range of human experience."
6 of 7 The history of early minority communities in towns and cities around the UK such as in Liverpool and Cardiff is also explored.
7 of 7 The exhibition is a travelling show which will tour schools around the UK next year. It will be at the Jewish Museum until 30 January.
