In pictures: Young photographer of the year

1 of 6 This year's winner of the Times/Tabasco Young Photographer of The Year Award is Sophie Laslett, 26, who entered three pictures including this one of a Donut stall at the Glastonbury festival.

2 of 6 Sophie, from Norwich, beat off strong competition to win a six month contract with The Times for whom she will undertake a wide range of assignments.

3 of 6 The last of her three images shows the comedian Paul Kaye on the film set of It's All Gone Pete Tong. Times picture editor Paul Sanders said: "Sophie has great flair and, I'm sure, will be a credit to the scheme."
