Governments, particularly in the west, have been supportive of US military action. But there have been anti-US demonstrations in many Moslem countries.
Saturday 3 November Bin Laden denounces Arab 'infidels'
The UK and the US dismiss the latest recorded video message by Osama Bin Laden, in which he calls on Muslims to defend their religion and the Afghan people in a holy war with Christianity. The White House says the comments are "an act of desperation". The US Defense Secretary meanwhile continues a tour of countries neighbouring Afghanistan.
