Plaid Cymru conference
Ieuan Wyn Jones will make his first speech as party leader
Plaid Cymru's Autumn Conference at Llandudno in north Wales offers the newly elected leader Ieuan Wyn Jones his first major platform as the party's new president.

In his speech, scheduled for Friday. he will be eager to assert his priorities for the party as the general election approaches.

The conference runs from 21-24 September at the North Wales Conference Centre in Llandudno.


23 September

1500BST: Training session for new delegates

1530BST: Conference starts

Resolutions include: contaminated land, fox hunting, addition of biomedical scientist in NHS pay review body, early retirement programme for farmers, waste disposal, privatisation of air traffic control

1720BST: Party reports and voting

September 22

0900BST Registration

Resolutions include: Plaid Cymru membership fee, minimum wage, education funding, agriculture and rural development, revitalising local government, occupational pension funds, children and families

1430 BST. Award for exceptional service

1445BST President's Speech

1530BST. Financial Appeal

Resolutions include: Opening Plaid Cymru to young people, health, Higher education strategy, housing

Resolutions include: Racism, special needs education, transport, the establishment of an anti-poverty agency, interest rates, European Union

1130BST Guest speaker from a European sister party and welcoming of guests.

Resolutions include: International trade union solidarity, Non-take-up of benefits, A distinctive educational policy for Wales, the Euro
