In pictures: Funerals of Istanbul blast victims

Hundreds of mourners gathered on Tuesday for the funerals of six Jewish people killed in blasts in Istanbul on Saturday.

The coffins were draped with Turkey's red flag, emblazoned with a white star and crescent, an honour normally given to prominent citizens.

Children mourned one of their classmates killed in the blast as rain fell on the Jewish Cemetery in Istanbul.

Prayers were said in Hebrew and Turkish as members of the Jewish and Muslim communities said farewell to the victims.

Some mourners were overcome by grief during the ceremony.

Members of the ultra-orthodox Jewish volunteer ZAKA Rescue and Recovery organisation attended the funerals.

Muslim victims were buried on Sunday. Most of the dead were were Muslim Turks, who lived or worked near the synagogues.

Investigators continue to search the rubble for clues to the attacks, believed to be carried out by two suicide bombers.

Many people have placed flowers at a memorial to all 24 victims, whose murder has shocked the country.
