Greek austerity cuts passed as protesters gather

The Greek parliament has voted to approve a programme of heavy cuts and reforms aimed at addressing the country's financial crisis.

The vote comes a day after three bank workers died in a petrol bomb attack as demonstrations over the planned austerity measures turned violent.

As the MPs voted, demonstrators gathered outside parliament to protest against the measures.

Gavin Hewitt reports from Athens.
