Audio slideshow: 'I gave birth in a tree'

In March 2000, Mozambique was hit by the worst floods for decades - at least 700 people died in the swirling floodwaters.

Carolina Pedro was heavily pregnant at the time, but she managed to clamber into the branches of a tree - where, three days later, she gave birth to a baby girl. Here both mother and daughter tell their story.

Reporting and some photographs by Kate McGeown. Publication date 22 February 2010.
