Photographer of the year: Look Up

Voting has now finished in our Generation Next photography competition.

The winner in the 14-18 years old category, chosen by our readers, was Amina Tariq's picture of a girl carrying freshly harvested wheat in Chitral, Pakistan (picture 11).

The runner-up in this category was Andrea Lim with a picture of her sister doing a 'frog leap' (picture 7).

So our congratulations go to Amina and Andrea.

You can view all the finalists above.

There were two categories in the competition and therefore two sets of prizes - one for anyone aged 13 or under and another for 14 to 18-year-olds (age as of 30 November, 2006).

Each of the winners chosen by our readers will receive a Nikon D50 SLR camera; the two runners-up will receive a Nikon S9 Coolpix camera.

High standard

We had approximately 2000 entries for the competition and, as ever, we would like offer our thanks to all of you who took the time to enter your work and vote.
