Photographer of the year: Look Up

Winners

Voting has now finished in our Generation Next photography competition.

The winner in the 13 years old and under category, chosen by our readers, was Paul Raghav's picture of birds flying, taken early one winter's morning on the Yamunna River, Delhi, India (picture 8).

The runner-up in this category was Fynlay Hughes with his picture of Spiderman and Superman sitting on the edge of a dock (picture 4).

So our congratulations go to Paul and Fynlay.

You can view all the finalists above.

Two categories

Tariq Amina's winning photograph

There were two categories in the competition and therefore two sets of prizes - one for anyone aged 13 or under and another for 14 to 18-year-olds (age as of 30 November, 2006).

Each of the winners chosen by our readers will receive a Nikon D50 SLR camera; the two runners-up will receive a Nikon S9 Coolpix camera.

High standard

We had approximately 2,000 entries for the competition and as ever we would like to offer our thanks to all of you who took the time to enter your work and vote.
